Weekend Recap

This weekend my parents and I and my friend’s parents and her went to Walla Walla for wine tasting. This trip was planned months ago and it’s crazy how fast it came. My parents and hers became really good friends during out soccer seasons over the years. They always have a good time together and were really bummed when our season ended because they didn’t know when the next time they would see each other was going to be. With that being said, they planned this trip last semester at the end of the soccer season. They planned it without my friend and I but offered the invitation to join them. This was because these are our last couple weekends here at Gonzaga and they didn’t know if we would want to give one up and not be at school. But my friend and I didn’t mind and was looking forward to this trip for a while. On Friday, we drove from Spokane to Walla Walla, my parents flew in from San Diego, and my friend’s parents drove from Boise. Friday started our wine tasting. We stayed in an Airbnb right in town and went to two wine tasting rooms walking distance from the Airbnb. Those were the Browne Family and Kontos. We then went to Crossbucks for dinner. This trip included wine tasting and a few breweries. This is because my friend’s parents are more beer drinkers and my parents drink more wine so we wanted to satisfy both needs. Everything tasted so delicious, and we were exhausted at the end of the night. Day 2 started at Valdemar out by their vineyards and after we went to Pepper Bridge. Both were really pretty especially because we got to sit outside in the nice weather and enjoy the view. I think wine tastes better depending on the experience in which you drink it in and sitting on a balcony looking out at the vineyards doesn’t get much better than that. We also went to Burrwood brewery. For dinner we went to Tmacs. At that point, we weren’t that hungry so we didn’t eat much at dinner. That night we got back to our Airbnb and played a card game called hearts. My family knows this game very well but we had to teach it to my friend’s. They picked it up quickly and played until very late in the night. The next morning my friend and I went on a walk around town and then did a little work out. We then went to Tranche. This was place had a very eerie vibe. We then went to Eternal Incubator. The word incubator refers to a winery that is starting up and gets some help before expanding on their own. Therefore, Eternal was very small. Lastly, we went to Lawrelin in town. This place was great! It was very homey and we chatted with the owners for a while. This last night we played salad bowl. This game consists of taboo, charades, and sounds all in one. It definitely gets us to laugh.

Overall, this trip was so fun and I am so glad my friend and I went. It was exactly what we needed and we are so glad our parents love each other. It is so fun seeing how much fun they have together! I don’t think this will be our last trip together 😊
